2. Characterization of composite coatings

2.1 Micrographic structures

Micrographic examination of the surface of composite coatings reveals the particles present on the surface, and in particular their size, shape, number and homogeneous or agglomerated distribution.

For example, scanning electron microscope (SEM) micrographs of Ag-PTFE composites reveal a homogeneous distribution of PTFE particles on the surface of the metal matrix (Figure 17 )
