6. Corrosion resistance of zinc coatings

The corrosion resistance of electrogalvanized steel is not an intrinsic property. It depends on :

  • coating thickness [40] ;

  • the nature of the baths used to produce them. Indeed, depending on the formulation used, deposits differ in texture, degree of purity (codeposited metallic impurities (Cu, Pb, etc.) that can form micropiles, partial incorporation of additives), porosity, etc., characteristics that affect their resistance to corrosion [41] ;
