7.1 Stabilization annealing
Stabilization annealing is sometimes necessary after coating to give it properties different from those obtained at the end of the bath. This annealing allows:
improve the adhesion of the coating by diffusing it into the undercoat or substrate;
release the internal stresses created during deposition;
release gases trapped in the coating during electrolysis.
