corrosion
Degradation of a metallic material under the action of a liquid or gaseous reagent: return to its natural state, i.e. to the ore state from which it was extracted (oxides, sulfides, carbonates, etc.).
Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry (GDMS)
Qualitative and quantitative analytical technique used routinely for volume elemental analysis in generally conductive solid matrices. The source, consisting of a discharge lamp, can be combined with different types of mass spectrometers, such as quadrupole, magnetic sector, time-of-flight or ion trap, and with different types of detectors, enabling better adaptation to the type of analysis performed.
