3.1 Electrode and ingot geometry

The electrode and slag remelted ingot are generally cylindrical in geometry, but it is also possible to remelt ingots with a square or rectangular cross-section.

Some furnaces are equipped to produce hollow ingots. The weight of ingots, which varies according to alloy and application (see table 1 , § 1.1
