3. Effort and torque models
The aim here is to describe approaches based on classical methods for solving plasticity equations which, by means of simplifying assumptions, enable us to reduce the very complex partial differential equations of paragraph 1.4 to much simpler equations that are analytically solvable or at least at low computational cost. Let's start by describing the slice method and the upper bound method.
