3. The main products from a conveyor belt

  • Products from strip mills are almost always in the form of steel strips rolled into coils. In the case of hot rolling, the coils are often referred to by their English name: "hot coils."

    The thickness of the belt generally varies between 1.3 and 20 mm, its width between 600 and 2,200 mm, and its weight between 10 and 40 tons, or even more in some cases. These dimensions are given as a guide only, as they depend on the technological capabilities of the conveyor belt in question. Each mill has its own limitations, depending on its construction and environment: for example, the maximum width may be determined by the construction of the roller table and the cage rollers, and the maximum weight by the construction of the coilers and reheating furnaces, etc.
