4.1 Mineralogy

The major source of rhenium is molybdenite, MoS 2 . The Mo-Re association is explained by the fact that the Mo-S and Re-S crystal systems have similar structures and elemental mesh sizes (parameter a) (table 5 ). Rhenium is isomorphically bound to molybdenite. Apparently, the rhenium content of molybdenite varies with the formation temperature of the mineralization.
