7. Conclusion
The phenomenon of erosion-corrosion, which is directly influenced by chemistry, is well described in terms of the influencing parameters, and a large number of experiments have been carried out to determine their effects. It mainly affects non- and low-alloy steels used in water-steam circuits. The nuclear industry is no exception to this mode of degradation.
Among the most influential parameters are temperature, the thermodynamic state of the aqueous fluid and its circulation speed, and the nature of the materials used. Other parameters modulate longer-term sensitivity, such as component chemistry and geometry.
