ADHERA

Device measuring a CFL using a locked wheel fitted with a smooth tire.

Adhérence ; Skid resistance

Contribution of the pavement surface to tire/pavement friction. This is a friction coefficient measured under specific, or even standardized, conditions in terms of test tire, loads applied, speed, etc.

Membership; Adhesion

Friction forces generated by the dissipation of energy linked to the stretch-break cycles of the molecular bonds between the tire and the road surface.

Coefficient de frottement longitudinal (CFL); Longitudinal friction coefficient (LFC)

Ratio between the horizontal friction force F (generated by a braking wheel) and the reaction R normal to the ground due to the load on the wheel.
