2.1 An example of tribological measurement on a metal-polymer pair

Press-fitting is a joining process that must ultimately produce high friction, otherwise the two parts would come apart in service. We are interested in a joint pressed into a collar on an automotive suspension arm (figure 1 ). The collar is formed by folding the edges of a circular cutout in a steel sheet using a stamping punch, which is then cataphoretically coated with epoxy resin
