Photoisomerization

In chemistry, isomerism refers to the fact that two molecules have the same gross formula but different structural formulas, and by extension different spatial structures. By modifying the molecule's geometry through isomerization, it is possible to modulate the interactions that change the structure of the bulk material, modify spectroscopic properties and so on.
