Warp tension management

The tension of the warp threads is an essential part of the weaving process, since it allows :

• make a clean separation of the wires into two distinct layers to allow the shed to be opened;

• bring the inserted fabric back to the stitch.

She is also involved in :

• keep the chain breaker plates in their proper position;

• the management of warp thread delivery through its action (pressure) on the thread carrier.
