7.1 State of the question

  • Are textile structures buildings? (insurance aspect)

    This question has been raised with regard to the application of the law of January 4, 1978, in particular as regards the insurance obligation.

    Of course, the question also arises as to the builder's obligation to meet stability and durability requirements at least equal to those of the ten-year warranty due under article 1792 of the French Civil Code.

    The notion of a building –, with all the consequences that this entails –, has been retained to qualify textile constructions: "built on the ground, whose purpose is not to be mobile (even if they can be dismantled), which serve to shelter people in their work...
