4. Conclusion

The integration of thermistors in electronic circuits has led manufacturers to increasingly miniaturize chips, multilayers and wafers: multilayer formats can reach unprecedented dimensions (e.g. multilayers measuring 0.6 × 0.3 mm):

The accuracy and sensitivity of NTC thermistors will continue to improve, and they can be integrated into ever smaller volumes.

PTC thermistors are used as protection against overcurrents and temperature rises harmful to circuits.

The new diagrams will enable these components to be used in high temperature classes (electric motors, internal combustion engines), with satisfactory reliability due to the nature of the ceramic material (shock and vibration stability), and at low cost.
