1. What are TRVs?
A TRV is a toxicological value defined to quantify a risk to human health from respiratory exposure, depending on the duration of exposure (acute, subchronic or chronic). These values apply to the population as a whole, including sensitive population categories (children, pregnant women, the elderly, the sick).
Acute and chronic TRVs can also be defined for the oral route, in the case of food poisoning, but this is not the subject of this data sheet.
