2. What data do you need from each of your suppliers?

Before making a decision, it's a good idea to gather information about your suppliers and the chemicals they will supply:

  • name and country of supplier (indicating whether distributor);

  • your substance's main identification numbers (e.g. CAS No., EC No. [ELINCS or EINECS], chemical and/or trade name);

  • in the case of a mixture, the percentage of each substance present. Each substance in the mixture must be taken individually;

  • the quantity in tonnes you wish to obtain from this supplier for each substance on its own and/or in a mixture;

  • a brief description of your and your customers' uses of the substance.
