4. What information do you need from your suppliers outside the EEA?

If your suppliers are not based in the EEA, they are not subject to REACh regulations. As an importer, it is you who must meet the obligations linked to the placing on the market.

Your obligations under the registration procedure will depend on your annual import tonnage. The threshold of one tonne per year triggers obligations to continue importing.

Important

When you calculate the quantity you import into the EEA for a substance, you must add up all your imports of the substance (substance itself or contained in a mixture), with the exception of quantities of reimported substances or substances from suppliers who have appointed an exclusive representative.
