3. Conclusion

In the context of green chemistry, the development of reaction media with low environmental impact is essential. Considerable progress has been made over the last fifteen years, but there is still a long way to go, as the solutions proposed (where they exist) are not always economically viable. In particular, the replacement of several ranges of solvents remains problematic. These include high-boiling aromatic cuts such as Solvesso TM or Solvarex, for which there is currently no realistic alternative. Indeed, these low-polarity cuts widely used in formulations (paints, coatings...) have no equivalent in nature, and their very low cost imposes the use of a very inexpensive raw material.
