1. Determine whether SCIP notification applies to you
The notification obligation applies to any European supplier of articles containing more than 0.1% m/m of a substance of very high concern on the candidate list without tonnage threshold ( directive 2008/98/CE – article 9i ).
Producers and importers of articles established in the European Union, assemblers of articles, distributors of articles and other actors in the chain established in the EU who place articles on the market are concerned by this notification obligation.
Only retailers and other players in the supply chain who supply articles directly and exclusively to consumers are exempt from the notification obligation.
