Article
An object which, during the manufacturing process, is given a particular shape, surface or design that is more decisive for its function than its chemical composition.
ECHA's guidance on "Requirements for substances in articles" also covers complex articles made up of several sub-articles assembled together or linked by a mixture, as well as coated articles.
SVHC substance
Substances on the candidate list are substances of very high concern.
The criteria for identifying SVHC are :
related to CMR hazards (cat. 1A and &B), PBT/vPvB or equivalent level of concern ;
related to use and risk, such as exposure, population, tonnage, etc.
