6. Mistakes to avoid

6.1 Don't neglect experimental studies

Don't forget that for many reactions, and especially if you're a fine chemicals manufacturer, an experimental study of thermal stability or self-heating in the laboratory will be necessary. Similarly, where no regulatory threshold exists for a given product, the operator will have to propose a threshold, based on a laboratory determination of toxicity.
