4. Model effects

4.1 Use software

Most hazard studies require the use of models to calculate effect distances. It is important to use software recognized and validated by the authorities. As the use of this type of tool is fairly complex, specialized engineering firms are often called in. It is advisable to discuss assumptions and input data with the authorities.
