6. A little-known obligation: declare work processes likely to cause occupational diseases
Any employer using work processes likely to cause occupational diseases is required to report them to the local health insurance fund and to the labour inspector (article L. 461-4 of Code de la sécurité sociale ).
The work processes concerned by this declaration are listed in the right-hand column of the tables of occupational diseases: this is a restrictive or indicative list of the work exposing the worker to the nuisance and likely to cause the diseases listed. The work may involve specific tasks (e.g. routine manual handling of heavy loads) or work carried out in a particular environment (e.g. work in sewers).
