8. Mistakes to avoid
8.1 Don't declare your employees as SMR, just so they can be seen more often by your occupational physician.
The declaration of medical surveillance is based on risk assessment. Declaring an employee to be on SMR is not a trivial matter; it implies that you are exposing him or her to proven health risks, and entails regular medical examinations, which you may have to pay for.
Remember that on a case-by-case basis, you or your employee can request "occasional" visits to your occupational physician, in addition to the mandatory visits.
