Overview

ABSTRACT

A large number of studies have proved the dangerousness of certain solvents, commonly used in the industry and in laboratories, for human health and the environment , which strongly encourages their replacement. This article presents new solvents, namely ionic liquids at ambient temperature. The various data is listed in a chart.

 INTRODUCTION

Recent stringent regulations have led to the abandonment of a number of solvents commonly used in industry and laboratories, and their replacement by others.

This dossier deals with new solvents such as room-temperature ionic liquids.

It follows on from the [K 310v2] and [K 311v2] files, which compile the main physico-chemical and toxicological data on organic molecular solvents.
