5. What types of "packaging" or "large packaging" are authorized, depending on the materials to be transported?

5.1 Choice of packaging type

To determine which "packagings" or "large packagings" are authorized for transporting a substance, it must first be assigned a UN number (see How to classify dangerous goods [FIC 1233] ).

Table § 3.2 of the ADR indicates, for each UN number, in columns (8), (9a) and (9b), the provisions applicable to the choice of a container for carriage in "packages" (see Figure "Extract from table § 3.2 of the ADR for the choice of containers")....
