5. Mistakes to avoid

One of the main weaknesses of risk management is that it is not an exact science. It is therefore important to check certain points throughout the analysis.

Don't anticipate long-term consequences without allowing for some uncertainty.

Don't assume that we can totally eliminate an organization's risks; generally speaking, we can only reduce them.

Don't try to reproduce the same analysis methodology for every risk. Given the diversity of risks and how they are dealt with, they need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis.
