10. Mistakes to avoid

10.1 Don't confuse "DESP" with "DESPT

The PED is Directive 2014/68/UE du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 15 mai 2014 relative à l’harmonisation des législations des États membres concernant la mise à disposition sur le marché des équipements sous pression (refonte) . It covers equipment intended for fixed installation, while the TPED covers transportable pressure equipment. Some "mobile" equipment, such as fire extinguishers or truck-mounted compressors, is covered by the PED rather than the TPED. Equipment intended for the transport of Class 2 dangerous goods must be approved in accordance with the PED.
