1.1 What is the SWOT matrix?

The SWOT matrix identifies the strengths and weaknesses of an organization or project, in the light of the opportunities and threats of the external environment. SWOT is based on an assessment of the company's strengths and weaknesses, on the one hand, and on the identification of opportunities and threats in the environment, on the other.

It's often referred to as a SWOT analysis, or a SWOT analysis tool or method.

In fact, SWOT is a matrix used as part of a company's strategic analysis.
