2. Wastewater treatment systems
Industrial wastewater (IWW) is a liquid of heterogeneous composition, loaded with mineral or organic matter, which may be in solution or in suspension, and some of which may be toxic.
Depending on the physico-chemical characteristics of the effluent to be treated and the degree of purification required, different water and sludge treatment lines are designed. The main ones are shown in figure 2 .
Generally speaking, purification will always involve the use of :
processes for separating and eliminating suspended solids;
processes for eliminating matter in solution, a certain proportion of which can be converted into suspended matter and eliminated with it....
