1.1 Authorization and Seveso authorization systems

Establishments presenting accident risks are subject to a specific classification, known as Seveso, in the fourth part of the ICPE nomenclature (numbers in 4000).

Example of a Seveso heading:

4701 Ammonium nitrate

Ammonium nitrate and mixtures based on ammonium nitrate in which the nitrogen content due to ammonium nitrate is :

  • between 24.5% and 28% by weight and contain a maximum of 0.4% combustible substances;

  • exceeding 28% by weight and containing no more than 0.2% combustible substances.
