2. Identify potential targets

This stage aims to identify potential targets (humans). This involves defining the different types of population concerned, according to their age, sensitivity and activities near the site.

To do this, it is necessary to research the different types of population present in the vicinity of the site (census of potential targets). Insee data can be used.

Exposure scenarios and calculation formulas incorporate the notion of human VHE exposure variables: body weight, quantity administered, etc. These values are available in the EPA's Exposure Factor handbook (EFH), or at national level in the CIBLEX database set up by IRSN.
