4. Check legal and regulatory compliance

Now it's time to check that your activities and their results, products and services comply with applicable laws and regulations.

The main means of verification are (non-exhaustive list) :

• product controls, in particular under paragraphs 8.5.1 "Control of production and service provision" and/or 8.6 "Release of products and services" of the ISO 9001 standard;

• internal and/or external audits, in accordance with paragraph 9.2 "Internal audit" of ISO 9001 ;

• checks by external bodies, for example to ensure compliance with European directives.
