3. Document the different management options

Different management options need to be identified, taking into account the best available techniques at a reasonable cost.

The aim is first and foremost to control sources and impacts. Only then, if it is not possible to control sources and impacts, will measures such as restrictions on use be considered.

The various management measures will therefore take into account :

• decontamination techniques ;

• containment measures ;

• regeneration or natural attenuation ;

• management of excavated soil ;

• preventing the impact of decontamination sites;

• prevention of occupational health and safety risks associated with worksites.
