 INTRODUCTION

This data sheet will help you to identify if you find yourself in a situation where an assessment of your facility's soil and groundwater conditions is necessary. In fact, there may be two reasons for carrying out such an analysis: the first is to meet a legal requirement (your obligations to the authorities), the second is to assess the consequences of an incident (your obligations to persons other than the authorities, in civil or criminal terms).

This sheet will help you determine the need for an initial assessment.

  • Does your plant present a risk of soil pollution?

  • Are the risks identified likely to cause harm to local residents and/or site users?

  • What are your obligations to the authorities?

  • Do you have an obligation to provide information?
