1. Understanding the principle of self-monitoring

This self-monitoring of your activity is in contrast to inspection visits and checks carried out by environmental inspectors (see Knowing the different checks [FIC 0081] ), and is therefore called self-monitoring.

As the operator, you are solely responsible for the nuisances, pollution and hazards caused by your facility, from the moment it is set up until it is shut down. You must therefore monitor your facility.
