2. Nomenclature of 1919
The loi n° 1917-12-19 du 19 décembre 1917 website governed dangerous, unhealthy or inconvenient establishments. Classified establishments" were divided into three classes, according to the dangers or seriousness of the inconveniences inherent in their operation.
The first class included establishments that had to be located away from residential areas.
The second class included those whose distance from dwellings was not strictly necessary, but whose operation could only be authorized on condition that measures were taken to prevent dangers or inconveniences for the safety, health or convenience of the neighborhood, public health or agriculture.
