To avoid a tense face-to-face meeting when signing the confidentiality agreement, it's best to agree on its content before presenting it to your partner for the first time.

You can contractually limit the circulation of confidential information within your partner to only those people who need access to it to achieve the purpose of the confidentiality agreement (joint research, feasibility study, etc.), because the more a secret is shared, the greater the risk that it will one day be leaked.
