3.1 Most studied compositions and their microstructure

The single-phase AHEs most studied experimentally can be classified into two main families (table 1 ):

  • those composed of transition metals forming a face-centered cubic (cfc) solid solution;

  • those composed of refractory metals forming a cubic-centered (cc) solid solution.
