8. Mistakes to avoid

8.1 Don't use too many macros

As you've probably guessed, this example of a tool uses Excel macros to automatically retrieve realization data from the information system. Macros save time through automation, but require maintenance, which can be problematic over the duration of a project. Macros should be used when the mass of data is too great to manage manually. Moreover, they can make users fear that the tools will become more complex and rigid.

However, macros are indispensable when the risk of inadvertent modification by users is not otherwise addressed. In fact, it's essential to lock the realization zones to prevent errors, deletions or modifications, whether intentional or not.
