Collaboration with a laboratory must also take into account industrial property aspects, patents, licenses, copyrights, etc. These aspects often take a long time to negotiate, and you need to get in early to avoid delaying the exploitation of the laboratory's work.
As we've already seen, it's also important to take care of financial aid at an early stage. France's research tax credit is highly advantageous for companies that subcontract R&D to public laboratories.
