3.1 Differentiate between project management and project-based management

FD X50-115 reminds us of the need to distinguish between project management and management by project (FD X50-116):

• project management applies to the management of a project, regardless of the organizational context in which it takes place;

• project-based management corresponds to the management style of an organization in which projects play a predominant role, and in which the organization, processes and leadership have evolved to take account of them.
