1.1 Boolean search paradigm
This paradigm, initially developed for documentalists, is based on the clear and precise formulation of a user question and its translation into a Boolean query that can be understood by databases, using filters and keywords from thesauri, combined with Boolean operators: AND, OR, NOT.
This process is only possible if the document base has been indexed beforehand.
A good command of querying techniques, or the help of a documentalist, is essential for building a quality query:
