Lean Startup aims to maximize the benefits of human creativity by making optimal use of available resources. Its purpose is to provide customers with a product perfectly suited to their needs. However, Lean Startup is not a general approach, but a well-defined concept. To apply its principles, we use the Running Lean methodology developed by Ash Maurya, based on the Customer Development of Steve Blank. After a presentation of Lean Startup, the Customer Development and Running Lean methodologies are detailed. The article concludes with two examples of applications.

Sustainable design refers to the design of a product, service, or process with characteristics that are sustainable over time from an economic, social/societal, and environmental perspective. In the same vein, eco-innovation is a specific type of innovation that aims to create value for the customer and the company that is sustainable over time from these three perspectives. The objectives of this fact sheet are: to outline the challenges and key principles of sustainable design for products, services, or processes, such as the circular economy, eco-design, eco-innovation, and life cycle environmental impact accounting; to propose six areas for consideration in eco-innovation or sustainable design.
