5. Efficient use of Boolean operators

In the majority of cases, Internet users formulate their queries by entering a few words, without using an operator between them. However, several operators exist and can provide valuable services.

5.1 The implicit AND operator

When you search Google with a query containing several keywords (e.g. properties of composite materials), the engine implicitly uses the AND operator between words, which means that it searches for pages containing all the terms you've entered. It is therefore not necessary to write the AND operator between words.

To enforce the presence of a word, we've seen that you can enclose it in quotation marks.
