2.1 A little history

The search for information, its exploitation and the development of a strategy is a very old concept. Just think of explorers such as Marco Polo or Jean de Mandeville, navigators (Christopher Columbus, Vasco de Gama, Magellan, Jacques Cartier, etc.), 14th-century merchants and so on.
