6. Select patents

Based on the various processes described in the previous steps, you are now in a position to provide general indications of trends in the field, whether in terms of registrations, countries, differences in R&D strategies between companies or countries, etc.

You can also select patents with their full texts, if they are important. Translation remains difficult for patents filed in certain countries (China, Korea, Japan, Thailand...), but there are translators (Systran, Google Translate) that give you an idea of the contents. If there's a WO patent in the family, or a patent in a language that's easy to understand, you'll find it easier to read.
