3. Are ideas protected by a probationary deposit?
As its name suggests, the probatory deposit constitutes a means of proof. As such, the various existing probatory deposits do not confer any title.
In practice, however, they are essential for the protection of innovative ideas, insofar as they confer a certain date on the idea, thus creating a presumption of paternity in favor of the depositor. They also make it possible to identify the idea in a contract, by reference to the probatory deposit made.
