3. Applying RACI in a team

In practice, while the process for a given project often includes drawing up a RACI before the project starts, this tool can also be used to relaunch a project that is faltering due to the involvement of too many people, ill-defined functions or repeated meetings that don't lead to real progress.

We then decided to draw up a RACI with rows (actions) and columns (who is involved and, above all, at what level).

The game unfolds in four stages.

  • We start by filling in the boxes with all the R's. At this stage, all the people around the table generally consider themselves to be R's (other columns can be added).

  • In a second step, we review the list of R's and switch to C's all those who have to give their opinion, but are not directors. In general, many people around...
